5 out of 5 stars This book is a MUST!!!   June 26, 2001

Often referred to as the "bible" of dental hygiene, no student should be without this text. Practicing dental hygienists can also benefit from the newest up-to-date information in this book. The textbook is practical and loaded with valuable details required for practicing the art of dental hygiene. The chapters are clearly organized and easy to follow. Resources and references listed at the end of each chapter can lead the reader to more information on the various topics. It could easily be considered a mini-encylopedia for dental health information. This book is a bargain!!! I highly recommend this book to students and practicing dental hygienists.

I attended a lecture given by Dr. Wilkins and had my 8th edition text autographed. She is a vivacious, wonderful woman and gave me the refresher I needed. The book is a wonderful part of what it means to be a dental hygienist. To see so many different editions (and so many matching gel pens) carried into the lecture hall was amazing. Truly a book treasured by the prudent dental hygienist.

5 out of 5 stars A Dental Hygienists Bible   May 4, 2000
This book should be mandatory for anyone considering the dental hygiene field. I found it very perceptive and clear cut. This was one of my best study guides and references for my exams and clinical. I couldn't have gotten through state boards without it.

5 out of 5 stars LOVED IT   August 7, 2006

I had to get this book for school, and I am glad that I had to get it because I used it so much, in every class, referenced it many times for homework assignments and for term papers.

5 out of 5 stars Wilkins textbook   December 27, 2009

Wilkins, in my opinion, has always been the best textbook for dental hygiene students. It reviews all hygiene courses. It is also a great reference guide for those hygienists who are already licensed. I have been an RDH for 15 years now and I still keep a current copy of Wilkins with me in my office. Also, if you ever get a chance to take a continuing ed course lectured by Dr. Esther Wilkins, please do so. She's a real treat!
